this is a wonderful shot. my favorite aspect is the shallow DOF with the happy family (?) in the background! i love the way the dress is flowing and the selective desat could not be better. what a great job you did! |

Selective desat works well here. Would like to have seen a bit more blur on the background people. Cleaner work with the desat woudl be good as well. Cleaner around her head and arm on left. There also seems to be a streak of lightll sarurated color onthe woman to the left (across her belly). Good shot but my fav of all your posted shots here is still the high key cowgirl. |

I love the selective de-sat here to brng out the girl and her colors are wonderful maybe the back ground blurred a little more might work too? I dunno I'm not an expert... yet lol |

Selective desaturation is pretty much an overused technique, but I feel that you've implemented it very well here to emphasise the subject. What I mean, I suppose, is that the eye is drawn to the subject, but the fact that the selective desaturation has been done is not the first thing one notices. One small quibble: there seems to be a patch of colour left in the face of the lady immediately left of the subject's tiara. Easily corrected. |

The subject here definelty pops right out of the picture. A very pretty girl smiling nice and natural. The destaturation works but even still, I find myself looking at the ladies in the background, particularly on the left. Maybe you could blur it just a tad more without looking completely fake. My only other change would be to dodge the subjects face just a tad. At the moment, it gets over powered by her pretty blue dress. The dress is nice and all but the first thing a viewer should look at in any portrait is the face.
