Ok, this won't exactly be my best scoring shot, but it seemed like a fun thing to enter at the time... :) I literally shot it without looking through the viewfinder out the windshield of my car.

For whatever reason, it always cracks me up to see amish horses towing canoes. I am easily amused. I predict a solid 4.

nice idea. a better photo would have been to have captured them coming towards you. publications prefer faces to rears, unless there's some compelling relevance to the overall composition. here, i don't see it (compositionally, that is). otherwise, this is a humorous take on a pretty hefty situation.

Good choice for the challenge but lacking a bit in sharpness.

Not a bad picture, maybe a little washed out but not marking you down because you repsected the Amish by not photographing the faces of these gentlmen.

I like the concept of this shot. The focus is a slightly off. This shot is a little weak for an 'above the fold' newspaper front page

I like it, it works and the title works in today's recent gas price hikes. Perhaps a better title would be something like "Amish unaffected by Gas Crunch" It's a bit less of a stretch for my imagination.

The shot is good, but may be a bit over-sharpened.

Not directed personally, just a comment for all ... don't mock the Amish, they have much to teach us - if only we'd listen :) I would have either cropped the boat out or left the whole thing in to get over that feeling of incompleteness in the image.
