Variation of your standard dandelion photo-- everyone's gotta have one! I'm not quite sure if I'm thinking out of the box or stretching to meet the challenge; only voting will tell. I like this photo because it's a "floral" photo that isn't static. The title is shortened from "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end"-- Closing Time by Semisonic

As far as editing goes I used levels, curves (for contrast), USM (once for sharpening, once for more contrast), selective colors and some hue/saturation (I think).

This is actually very odd, you know? What you are showing represents the end-stage of the flower (far from "new") but the freed seed is the potential of a new flower...

really like your composition -- the separated seedling makes it new (I'm guessing you've heard there's another dandelion in the "Old" challenge -- I've read about yours, too LOL) to me it's quite clear how each photo made the "new" vs "old" point

I think I'd like more blur (or perhaps a bit less light) on the flower itself as I find my eye too distracted.

B&W was a great choice, really makes seed thingies pop. The one seed head floating away really sets this apart. Very nice!

Interesting, there's a picture of one of these in the "something old" challenge too. Depends on your perspective I guess. I like the one little seed head sticking up from the rest. Well photographed.

I've seen a lot of plants and trees... Yes, they meet the challenge, but where is the creativity... It's the image that stands out from the rest that wins me over.
