An incredible shot, and I think it should have scored a bit higher in the challenge. Maybe not a blue ribbon, because Inferno was awesome, but i think it was certainly worthy of a second or third. A close second I might add, with the only thing holding this one back compared to inferno is the mood that they achieved using that devilish feeling woman. I guess when you set a mood, or tone like that, using a woman just comes across as more dramatic. Not to take anything away from the subject here, because its obviously a good-looking fella, and he nailed the look to a T.
I would be interested in hearing why "you" thought Inferno outscored this shot?

Great light---including a little more of the arm (elbow) would have been a little stronger--but....beautiful!

Great background (I've seen 2 others in the challenge with a similar background, but this is the best portrait among those)

I think if you placed your model a bit to the right, this would be a great photo!! Right now he's a bit too much centred. But I love the colors & his expression! 8

The look is so intense and sad. The lighting and the backdrop are perfect.

This is really nice. The warm tones work well with the background. The one nitpik I have is that his arm seems oddly disconnected somehow. But still gets an 8 from me.

Quality work in this image, the coloring and lighting are especially appealing. The only portion a bit off is the transition from arm to hand, seems to sharpen too quickly. Love it though.

Great shot! all the technical details are spot. Though I must say I find the crop/pose a bit odd, with the right hand coming out from the bottom left side like that without seeing a connection to the rest of the body.

Awesome tones and I also feel your choice of aperture make this a wonderful shot. Soft focus draws my eye center frame. Well done. 10 from me.

Love the background, the consistency of color and the expression. They all work well together to portray an emotion and not just another boring portrait of a person. Very well done! :)

Nice even lighting - would, however, have been better without the awkwardly positioned arm in the frame - this has the feel of a self-portrait...but I could be wrong.
