USM no other changes. I'm not a big fan of heavily retouched images.

am a greenhorn. My opinion barely must be taken into account. I even invented my own voting system which everybody is free to criticize:
10- exceptional good. Real art.
9- better than commercial print. Between art and comercial print
8- could be a good commercial print
7- fair commercial print
6- ordinary snapshot, good technic
5- ordinary snapshot
4- ordinary snapshot, poor technic
3- no subject but good technic (colors, focus)
2- no subject, fair technic
1- no subject, no technic, no meaning

I rated this 4. I wanted to give it a 5 but the focus is just not right i think.

I think your choice of focal plane overemphasizes the background, and the softness of the drill press all on the right side throws off the balance of the picture.

Out of focus area in front is distracting, harsh light and shadows are making the photo look chopped up, image is very busy and doesn't have a strong focal point.

Looks like the DoF is too shallow. It makes the chair the focal point of this picture. The equipment in the foreground, which is slightly out of focus, would be much better as the main subject.
