Disney is using various locations around Providence for the filming of an upcoming live-action version of "Underdog". My daughter and I had some time to kill downtown so I was able to snap off quite a few shots before one of the crew very politely asked me to wrap it up and move on. I was actually quite suprised that so much pedestrian activity was allowed around the site. Incidently, this particular location is an alley right outside the Providence Ballet studio where my daughter attends classes. I hope her teacher was compensated for the temporary inconvenience since there is very little parking at the best of times and many of her adult clients pay on a per class basis and attendance could conceivably drop during the week or so of filming at this location. I'm not sure if it is clear that they are setting up giant reflectors and taking meter readings. I took a lot of shots of a guy who was in a cherry picker type thing controlling an enormous light but they weren't as successful as I would like since I don't have much telephoto range on my point-and-shoot.
By the way, this alley is usually kept very neat. This is carefully constructed garbage.
