Loved the expression of pure exhuberance you captured on the boy's face. No faking that. And contrary to what espy says this sort of capture is not all that easy.

I wasn't crazy about the vertical crop and I felt the b&w tone could have been tweaked a bit. Still, I gave this a 7.

why b/w?

a kid on a swing. grinning, nonetheless. not really engaging and no storytelling. no action. focus is a little soft. what could you do to do better? look at the top 30 images in this challenge after it's over and see if there's something in them that you could try to emulate. if your score isn't where you would like it to be, you might want to read this thread.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

Children are far too easy to get candids of in my opinion. They can be found doing all kinds of obscure things on a daily basis with little regard to what is around them or who. Their emotions, unlike adults, are not contained. With that said, I do like your photo, but it just doesn't have that kick for me I personally prefer to see in a candid. I prefer to see something out of the ordinary, something obscure, something that sparks more of an interest in seeing a none every day thing going on. The unexpected. The child is cute, and you did very well in using the b/w tones. But as a candid its a 3 vote for me.
