::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
Doesn't really appear candid and it got stung for score because of this ...from reading this is not how it is meant to appear .. but its one of those annoying 'shit happens" moments. :(
Composition:
This is not bad .. its doesn't grab me though .. i am not sure why not.
Subject:
well as mentioned and as pointed out by others ... they felt it DNMC .. who cares it is a great stock shot for the portfolio.
Technical (Colour and light):
On first look I thought it was a little washed out .. on second was fine .. I like natural light for taking pics ... which is lovely.
To grow its vote?:
as above .. meeting the challenge in the eyes of the voters helps.
Summary:
Good shot, but as you say .. onwards and upwards.
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
Cheers

Well, I hardly ever shoot people pics, now I know why. To those who said it was staged, I can assure you it wasn't. I had intentionally framed using the rock and grass to try to show him peaking. I just caught him as he looked up. Oh well, on to the next challenge. |

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.
Cute photo, but doesn't say candid to me. He is looking right at the camera. I like to see shots out of the ordinary or a bit more unexpected for a candid. |

This looks way posed to me. Maybe I'm wrong. |
