I drive about 25,000 miles a year. My car and I spend a lot of time together, so it's a good thing I like it.
My choice of license plate should be a surprise to no one. I'm committed to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis, and I'm going to be walking 50km in support of that cause. I've pledged to raise $2,500. Please sponsor me if you can.
I bought a hybrid last year, and besides the cost savings it really is a good feeling to know I'm doing something about gas prices. The only way to bring a price down is to increase supply or reduce demand. In the case of gasoline, the supply is fixed. In any case, as consumers, the price is the only thing we can control. Rather than complain that "someone" should do something about oil prices, I've decided that I'm someone, and am doing what I can. I believe that in many situations in life, we choose to be part of the solution or part of the problem.
As often as I can, I'm going to try to use these self-portraits as learning tools. Today was an exercise in controlling reflections. I couldn't get anything at my apartment complex without reflecting parking lot lines or buildings, so I headed off to the park down the street I had originally planned this for a wider angle, but as I played with this I found the tight crop worked better; thus the incongruous lens choice for a closeup.

Probably the biggest mistake I made here was wearing a white shirt; a darker shirt would have made the exposure much easier. |
