beautifully composed shot, and the film look is gorgeous. some people on this site (myself included) spend a lot of time trying to simulate that look. The road that is not a road creates a surreal sense of space. A giant child? A miniature world? perhaps he is looking down at some Lilliputians... seriously, the intense way he is staring at his shadow really makes this shot. I would say that's the "heart" of the shot. Often I see beautiful shots with no heart. I think another way to say it is the "so what?" factor. Every photo begs the question, "so what? what you take this picture for?" The answer does not lie in technical prowess (though of course that's a tool that can be used in its service). |
