Fauxiana, Elegans

focal length: 300mm (macro)

pp: rotate, crop, sharpened, sat up a little, then selectively burned a few tips, softened background/grain

Thank you to all who voted this 'highish' and also for the comments.

'If only' this were sharper, and a deeper depth of field ... but I'm learning.

Also, for those interested, this cactus is a whopping 2"/12.5cm (approx) high - including tips of needles

Now this is really awesome and love the composition of this macro shot. I just love cactus and succulents, so you have won me over with this one. Adding this as a favorite as well.....

Gently does it, I think. My those prickles can hurt if you get one in your finger. Great close up shot with good lighting.

I like this shot. I think it might look better with an increase in the DOF to put all of the cactus in focus.

I would like to see the focus a little further back on the top needles. Still got a nine from me.
