Sharper focus on his back foot and maybe composing the shot so you could see his shadow more completely would have bumpe dthis photo up I believe. I wonder what this looked like in color? Maybe slightly oversaturated.

IMO, only- LOL, black and white seems to be a lower scoring medium than color, noticed that time and time again on dpc. That being said, nice photo, sharp, but missing that "pop" that is needed to score well above 5, does not matter to most voters the clarity of image, focus or creativity, if it does NOT have that pop factor, not going to score well!

I gave this pictuere a 9. I like the real-life flavour that it has. It captures a nice moment, and doesn't have that commercial plastic look that the voters here prefer. When I voted for it, I knew that it was not going to do well here: this picture was too good for DPC.

I'm a bit disappointed that you yourself are calling this picture boring. I *don't* think that this photo is boring; in fact, it's amoung top 10 I voted for this challenge.
