| I think the concept and colors of this shot are excellent. I do think that using much deeper DOF would have strengthened the message of "texture" for this challenge, and it would have added significant interest in the shot. I think the lighting emphasizes texture well, and the position of the shell within the frame is great. There is a good deal of grain in the shot which I think degrades it just a little. |

| I like the composition and colors, I would have liked to see a little more of the shell in focus. It has some noise as well might try running it through Neat Image. Overall it's a great image, should have scored higher than it did. |

| I like the angle & the lighting in this shot, would've liked to see a little bit more of the tip of the shell in focus. Colors work well too! |

Well i willpick at this one....
I love the idea of this the DOF is a little off.... it is right in the middle of the shell i would say you would nee to have the whole shell in focus or runing from front to back. The Colors are wonderful! It is a litle grainy... Wich i will say i use PS alot and when i use the Sharpen thing it makes it looks grainy. i just upladed a pic and it did it to that one. Any ways!! Wonderful idea just a little off... if i was to vote this one i would give it a 7 |

| You only got 2 comments during the challenge so I figured I would offer something on this one. I also think it would benefit if you were to change the DOF to the front of ther shell. Also maybe a little Neat Image to get rid of the noise in the purple. Have you tried making this B&W? I think it would look great B&W or one with a blue tone to it. |

| The small part in focus shows some texture well. The composition and colours are great. IMO if the DOF went from where it is to the tip of the shell at the front this shot would be greatly improved. |

| Interesting. I think the DOF is a bit too shallow though. That is somewhat a matter of opinion though. Lots of people like this sort of extreme blurring of foreground and background (bokeh?). |
