 Another typical rough/smooth shot. The noise was a major letdown for this shot, i had been exposing for the flames... in the end decided to go for a smoke-only one which i could have carried off much better with a lower iso.

100-400L at the 100mm end, being forced to do macro with loads of extension tubes. One sigma ef-500 on an off-camera hotshoe cord to the right. Manual focus, remote release, lots of messing about when changing matches. A lot of outtakes (many probably way better but i'm indecisive), might post later.

Very nice take on the matchstick theme. We've been treated to a lot of lit ones, I suppose it is inevitable that we should see some recently extinguished. This sets a pretty high standard for that particular sort of work.

Brilliant idea, but the outcome is not that superb. You would have needed a bit more light I think. Both to lighten up the picture and also to be able to prevent the smoke to be blown out to completely white.
