Ahh, the candid. Gotta lovem`!

Basic Editing really sux sometimes. :) And "not forgetting the technical aspects of photography" can't protect you from bad painted-on store advertisements when getting a candid. :) I tried to crop it out, but to keep just the handicapped sign and the man, the sign was so high up it was like one really LONG photo and looked odd. I had to also include where he is looking and to crop it tighter would have made the photo seem lost within itself.

He was talking to a woman standing and another man on a motorcycle. I got just him alone in two shots and all three of them together in one shot, but I didn't want to use the one with all three. I thought it would take away from the corrolation between this poor guy and the sign. LOL. But I did want to take more shots just to make sure I wasn't being fooled by my LCD monitor.

A cop drove around the corner and I was parked badly, so I took off. I went around the block and then came back, but the man had vanished. Maybe he left cause he was parked badly to, or without a permit? (*smile*) Glad I got the shots I did get, but I wanted his face and more back ups. Oh well. Still a great photo op, and did get at least one out of the three to work with.

This is what I expect from a candid. What works is the juxtaposition of the man with crutches and the handicapped sign. The bit of painted sign on the wall gives the viewer a nice feel for the environment and adds a bit of visual interest to the backdrop as well. Nice job!

Pretty interesting, why is there such a parking lot for the disabled?
