A lovely capture and less um would have placed this in top contention. Backlight carries its own magic defining what is not normally visible therefore processing is hyper critical. However, the cgarm and strength of this image is outstanding. Congratulations on your 11th finish.

I still think this is extraordinary beautiful, as far as textures, this should have placed much higher..

your backlit scene shows off all that's fuzzy -- tones and busy composition work well, one of my ribbon picks

Cool backlight effect. Nice colors.
I could be wrong, but I sense oversharpening in here. The noise pattern in the out of focus area looks exagerated by the sharpening. Sharpening should be used in moderation in my opinion.
I think it's a side offect of DPC where super sharp photos wins more ofthen than soft photos. So it's hard to resist when comes time to apply sharpening to our photos. I understand that.

Incredible lighting or very good post processing, or both. Really a great depiction of "texture".

Oh this is lovely. I thought I was tired of flowers after YELLOW and then this popped up. It's quite unusual and I love the lavender/green theme. The perspective makes for very nice eye candy.Upping to 10 - I really think this is perfect.

Wow great detail!! The shot looks amazing! Was there water on the little fuzzies or just good lighting?

Might be overprocessed. The white areas, caught by the sunlight, appear to be oversharpening artifacts. The important fact is I can't really tell. Lots of speckles and/or electronic noise.
