Photography is a b*****. I must have spent 3 hours shooting and processing yellow pictures this week. Three out of the four people that I consulted with chose this out of ~four other images. This image was really supposed to be just a test image to see if desaturating a yellow pick on a light wood guitar would even work. Set up & composing time was approximately 16 seconds.

When I decided that this was the shot I was going to go with, I actually tried to reshoot it to clean some things up (there was garbage on the bottom right of the frame, and the line at the top left being cut off was killing me). The reproductions were missing something that the original had... maybe just the angle, maybe more.

I need to figure out the ingredients for stunning composure, because it's clear that I just don't know them.

Liked the angle you shoot, right bottom corner seems slightly dark. I can see a harsh shadow there and the guitar color and background color look blended. Change the background color I think to leave it completely black. Test how the picture looks in a very closer shoot. I think a macro shot will give the picture more depth.

I did not get to this during the challenge but I like it! The small amount of yellow is very well done, stands out and really draws my attention into the shot. But the colors for the rest of the shot left me feeling off for some reason, maybe a more b&w take would have made a difference? Look at me, offering advice to you, LOL :) Just my thoughts, I do really like the shot though. Well done. If I had made it this far in the voting I would have given this a 7

Love the clean lines of this. Great subject and way of highlighting yellow in the image. I do wish the pale sepia-ishness was a little richer.. more creamy I guess? Maybe that would've drawn away from the yellow pick though. Nicely done. 6.
