The backround is crumpled up yellow plastic wrap. It looks more orange with the lighting. Got to play around with my studio lights. I think I am getting better with them. Honey comb filter light filter from the upper right. Soft box from behind and slightly to the left of the camera.

like the colors and the back ground

I was checking out your profile following up on the milestone thread, and realized this was your image. I believe this is a surprisingly low score; I had this image ranked in my top 10 and had given it an 8. I think it's quite lovely, and I admire the unabashed way you celebrate the common textures of the Background and foreground cloths.

Oddly enough I put some daffodils in "Something New", and they did pretty well. But of course mine are in the field, not a still life.

Congrats on your milestone!

Beautiful still life. I'm not sure I like the reddish yellow cast on everything. I think it would be enough just to have yellow flowers.

This has to be a front runner - Wonderful shot.

Lovely. Some may comment on the wrinkly background but I like it.

Simple, yet very eye catching. I like the lighting and the simple background. I wonder how it would have looked with a blue vase to act as a contrast color. I think the colors would have really popped with a blue vase. Well done!

I really like the contrast between the wrinkled background and the smooth cloth (?) that the vase is standing on. Good lighting brings out the texture in the wrinkles. A well composed and well executed shot.

Although I like the texture of the background and color, it took away the contrast for the Daffodils, still a very nice photo..

Love the idea, I would have loved the creased background to have been oof to soften it!

This is quite exquisite in conception. It's a pity the background seems crisper than the daffodils... I love the composition, I love the BG.

Oh, nice! Good colors, nice lighting, good shadows but that backdrop is so distracting with all those wrinkles! A 7

I like the still life. The shadows are nice. I wish the background weren't so wrinkled.
