I was driving along and saw this bridge - usually the railings are white.

Definately yellow!! Fits the challenge well. Have to admit that I also saw your outtakes before commenting here and I do think it helps with the bridge a little lower to be more on the bottom thirds. Definately like the sky better in this one though, overall nicely done.

OK, I saw your outtakes in the forum before seeing this one - sorry. But I like all three very much. The setting is peaceful and crisp. This shot is not as serene Yellow Bridge II. It's a little brighter, which in this case does not help. On the other hand, the sky and the tree are beautiful and provide excellent balance. You have taken a three wonderful shots. I think this should have finished higher than it did.

Nice bright vivid yellow, and an interesting subject - not very often you see bridges this colour!

However, even with that bright yellow bridge cutting across the middle of the shot, the lines and composition actually draw my eye to the tree on the right. If you look at the lines, the river bank and the bridge are almost 'pointing' at the tree (which itself is sitting on a thirds line)

Good post processing, brought out the contrast well, and made the grey sky look interesting.

I like the composition and the sky is very cool...I'm not sure what you'd need to do to make this better, I like it just the way it is...

Well, my worthy opponent beat me here, first thing I thought was "Wish the dominant yellow line was on the thirds", honestly! Also may TRY, not sure if it would help or not, is the crop out from the right side enough so that white guard rail is gone. May help a LITTLE.

Another shot that deserves to have done better! The only minor improvement I can think of would be to crop horizontally at the bottom, roughly to the top of the sand bar on the lower left of the picture to then put the dominant yellow rail guards along a thirds line.

Nice shot, well done mate! My favorite elements in this shot are the sky and the leafless tree, makes for a strong contrast with the yellow of the bridge.

VIVA LA PENTAX!!!

I liked this image because it was definitely different from a lot of the others in the challenge. The yellow REALLY stands out, and that makes it very appropriate. If you're so inclined, it might be interesting to see it as a selective desaturation, with everything else grayed except the bridge. As for composition, don't know if it matters or not, but the bridge itself isn't quite at a 1/3 line or a 1/2 line - which may account for why it feels "unbalanced" to some.

Fun picture with that yellow in the bridge. I am a little uncomfortable about the angle of the bridge against the horizon although it's not specifically bad.

I would have tried to pull a bit of yellow out of the surrounding areas. The river and grass also appear to be quite yellow. I wouldn't desaturate all the way, maybe -10 or -20?

Congrats on beating my Tweety!

Nice composition. What an ugly bridge, lol -- but nice of them to fix it for you just in time for the challenge. Overall this is a good shot.

I guess! WOW! You'll see that one for a couple of miles down the road! Nice landscape shot and for this challenge it fits well because of the yellow but the bridge color hurts the rest of the picture to me. I"ll split the difference and give you a 6,kay? :)

Wow. Yellow is my favorite color.. but that's one ugly bridge. It has a nice pop effect, though i do find it slightly diminished by the yellows and greens in the hillside on the right. I'm not sure about the perspective either. The sky has a nice look to it and that tree has interest. The bridge itself gives its own bit of interest but everything together seems a bit jumbled and I'm having a hard time finding something to focus on. In fact my eyes are being drawn to the green more often than the yellow. Not sure why.. maybe because its so clearly focused and closer to me the viewer. Something just feels off-kilter with this image. 4
