This is a macro of grated, dried orange peel. I hand held my lens reversed up to the camera. Lens was approximately set on 70mm. Lens was about 4 inches from the pile of orange peel. Shot RAW, used Picasa to adjust exposure of the RAW and saved as JPG. Then PS on the JPG for crop, levels, and despeckle.

This is a last minute entry and I really don\'t expect too much. Oh well, I had fun taking the shot.

Getting this image was a real trial. I kept images that were close to what I wanted but they all had horrible noise. Finally I managed one with a low-moderate amount of noise and decided to live with it. Reversing a lens, especially hand holding it, can be a real challenge.

this needs to be lit better to really get a sense of the texture of the gravel (sidelighting is the key to enhancing texture). This looks a bit overexposed. The focus should be sharp on the entire image (so for a macro you need to point the camera straight down) to really get the graphic abstract quality of the gravel.

The out of focus aspect loses a lot of the appeal for me.

This had potential, but I don't see any portion of the image in focus.

It could use some sharpness/focus.

Focus seems to be a little off, but lighting looks good.
