 this image placed 3rd in the Virginia Press Association's annual competition. it was entered in the Portrait Photo category.

it was shot at the Hanover Tomato Festival last summer.

it was titled "Tuba Serenade"

I like the natural gold brass tones here, is this all natural light, or some flash?
Its amazing, and I see why you won 3rd but you should of got 1st...

Oom pah pah oom pah pah that's how it goes.... (sorry, got caught up in a tuba song)

Really nice, Skip. I spied this in the thumbnails immediately. I like his eyes closed - he's really into it. The red shirt helps pull your eye in as well by being in the shot twice. The reflection balances the red at the bottom..
