Challenge: In the Garden (Classic Editing)
Camera: Panasonic DMC-LC20
Location: In the garden of Full Circle Bookstore in Oklahoma
Date: Jul 27, 2003
Aperture: 1:3.3
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/284 sec
Date Uploaded: Jul 29, 2003

I live in an apartment in the middle of a city that is going through a drought, so this challenge proved a little difficult. The bookstore that I work at has a garden outside it's cafe. This picture was taken as it was found, without any moving of objects or extra lighting.

You know, after looking at this image a week later.... I don't think the sepia-tone came out the way I wanted it to. I reall appreciate all the comments I got. They always help. This was my first outdoor's shot and I have alot to learn. Thank you everyone!

Nice idea to use sepia here though it appears to be a little over exposed. Most likely due to the harsh lighting. To compensate for this a diffuser and/or reflector may have helped to allow you to bring out more of the details in the shadows.

i cant really find a focal point here, it needs something in it to get my attention

There is too much glare on the leaves. Perhaps you should have tried at a different time of day.

I feel like this should have been in color with the title, looks like fall already with the sepia filter.

you can see your shadow in the plants, and it is just leaves - 3

I'm confused. Is the rake there waiting to be used or not? If waiting, then the angle's a bit funny. If not, the shot loses its meaning a touch.
