Shot on my way to work. This is a reflection in a glass wall. Postprocessing is minimal: develop RAW, push to PS, convert to B&W, crop.

One year later:
I had another look at this image, and cannot understand why I had to crop it this way and why I didn't keep the colour. The better version of this image can be seen here:

Is the shadow distacting or does it just add more interest and keep you seeking the different layers of the image? I like the vertical lines continuing into the darkness at the bottom and also "warped" area's.
great job

The background is not busy: what you are calling the background is actually an important element of this shot.

If you don't like the reflections, then what do you mean by "nice idea"? I am lost. If I didn't want the reflections in the shot, I would not need a circular polariser - I would shoot the subjects directly instead of their reflections in the window.

I agree, the shadow is distracting.

Also, the reflections are a bit of a distraction, but only minor. Finally, the squarish crop isn't working for me ... I think I would have like some of the bottom dark space cropped away. These are all just personal preferences.

The reflections are what makes this shot different! Without them, it would be just another candid shot. The reflections add a lot of texture, divorcing the shot from the concrete place and time.

The black area in the bottom helps the viewer understand that he is seeing reflections, so it is necessary.

...oh thank God for this...in a sea of blah this is a treasure...I really enjoy the viewer as voyeur aspect of this image...witness to a stolen moment.

This is a good shot and really presents well in B&W (you know, good tonal range stuff). For me, there are a couple of minor things that might have improved the shot ... there is a shadow behind the couple and it looks really strange, like an extra person trying to pick the guys pocket. I know it was just the way the light was working, but it looks like an extra person. Also, the reflections are a bit of a distraction, but only minor. Finally, the squarish crop isn't working for me ... I think I would have like some of the bottom dark space cropped away. These are all just personal preferences. After all those critical comments, I do like the photo a lot and I gave it a good rating.

Very nicely composed photo, I like the kind of grain (for lack of a better word) created from the secondary reflection. Well done!

shooting through indows seldom gives a superior photo, though this adds to the voyeuristic feeling of this shot.

I like the B and W but still too much clutter in shot.

Interesting what all you can see from inside somewhere. Good catch, very nice in b/w.
