Post-Challenge

Well I was really excited about his picture, and don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my placing... but I was hopping to score a bit better. The 'model' is me and I am climbing (posing) on my inddor climbing wall. I built this little wall in my basement (not specifically for the challenge) and wanted to use it in a photo somewhere down the line. I did build two softboxes for this challenge to try and soften the light so that the shadows weren't so dark but it didn't really work. i essentially 'taped' my camera to the ceiling and used the swing out LCD to frame myself. The background is a crashpad on the floor, and the coloured objects on the wall are the moulded handholds specifically created for indoor walls.

Thank you for the comments.

Either a wooden wall or the parket floor. :-)

Looks like hard work. I can appreciate that. I like the rough hands and the BandAids. Color is a little off, so maybe it would have been better in B&W. Cool concept.

Great DOF for climbing impact. You can feel the stretch. 10

I like the composition here and the hands work really well. My 3 'niggles' are the objects left and right of the model and the background. On my LCD stright on its ok but at an angle I see wrinkles in the cloth.

interesting shot, too bad it's so hard to tell that it's a climber

good POV and crop, but might have been better, if the background was out of focus and his face was lit better
