Hung a dark blue sheet from a balcony for a background.

Used a rolled up piece of paper and some duct tape to make a snoot for a reflector light to create the tracks of the moving balls.

Used a flash at the end of the exposure to fill in the face and make a solid image of the ball. I ended up folding a piece of paper in front of the on-camera flash to create a poor man's bounce flash to make the light less harsh.

I wore a black shirt and black balaclava so only my face and hands would show up against the background.

The hard part was juggling with the flash and timer lights distracting/blinding me. It took a lot of takes before I got one to last the full two seconds.

Adjusted curves to get the black clothes to disappear completely into the dark blue background.

Cropped.

Used Photoshop's Reduce Noise Filter.

Used healing tool to smooth blemishes on face.

Resize.

Sharpen.

As an afterthought, steepened the brightness curve one more time.

What a straight-face, aren't jugglers supposed to smile ;)
oh well it's midnight and he's probably just tired (and I'm being a smart ass). You've done a fantastic job with this 2 second entry, good luck.

Good example of the theme. I like the show of motion and the composition of the photo.

I like the movement of the hands/juggling balls contrasted to the total stillness of the face. Very nice.

Well done, love the action of the balls against the stillness of the face. Also the dark background and hood show off the colors of the balls well. Nicely done and good luck

Neat concept, but maybe you should have used a brighter light or adjusted in PS.

I had a go at this myself but I'm not a good enough juggler to hold my head that still. Very well done.
