This has got to be one of my favorite shots of all time. Taken in Sav LaMar, Jamaica on market day. We were going into the farmers market, I turned around, saw the car and quickly shot this. The goat, the car, the whole thing just mesmerizes me for some reason.
last night, i had a dream that i was in this place. walking around the streets. i kid you not. favorited this a long LONG time ago and i obviously love it if im still thinkin and dreaming about it!
I'm not a huge selective desat fan and honestly I didn't even notice that you did it until my 10th look. The color of the car against the drab bg with the goat does need to jump out. Well done.
WOW!! i love everything about this shot! one of those shots where everything in it's mixed matched place works out so perfectly. the green car is an amazing element in this photo and i love the beams of light coming of it in the shape of a star. beautiful job!! going into my faves :)
Fantastic job capturing life in Jamaica. The green bug shows off in your picture just like the driver is doing through the streets here. You know he thinks he's "top ranking" through the streets as you can see that people are taking notice. Great work.
This is indeed a really appealing image in so many ways. The punch in the green makesit stand out and the placement is good. I'm a bit bummed that I can't se etheir faces much maybe due to burning but I still like the "feel" of this image. Gives me great vibes ;)
A nice composition, with some tension between the car and goat that really satisfies. Selective desaturation (I assume) is the perfect choice. Highlights are blown in the street and sky, but to no ill effect. It could be argued that the shot is busy, or that a tighter crop would have focused on that tension in a more meaningful way. But in my opinion the viewer is forced to look around this shot to discover what's going on, which is a good thing. I don't know anything about goats, but it looks like a laden female, which for me adds still more interest, and makes me want to know what's up with this animal. :)
Again, I assume because of post or resolution or resizing, there is lost detail in the cables above the street. There is an almost imperceptible corner-cut in the lower right, which usually detracts, but seems ok here. The large blank portion of the street may distract some; perhaps here it is simply the path the car will take, and adds to the image. Excellent picture.
