"The city tumbles across the landscape, it's vague boundaries eating ever outwards. The root like tunnels burrow haphazardly below while the manmade spires soar far above, spindly fingers reaching for the stars. Between these two extremes the ants of this mad metropolis scurry about their business unaware of the back alleys, tunnels and haunts of yesteryear. Unknown to most, beyond that decaying doorframe or rusty metal portal wait adventure and sights few shall see.

To reach this parallel world forget about joining fees, contracts and mission statements. All ones needs is a torch and a curious spirit."
(sleepy city)

Inspired by dsankt from 'sleepy city'. To those of you that don't know the website, I strongly recommend it. This is one entrance to a series of tunnels that apparently span out for tens of kilometers under the City.

I really wanted to photograph a different side to the City I know and love. I hope everyone likes the photo as much as I enjoyed taking it - Real 'rush' actually!

Excellent. The framing of the city using the rocks,
and the foreground being some sort of drain. The idea
that the city is no more than a toilet! lol

Really love the way you have framed the cityscape. Fantastic how you have kept the focus on both the near rocks and still maintain focus on the city. In my opinion, the blue of the sky and the presence of the cloud at the top really adds to the photo. Well done

What makes the frame of rocks work so well in this photo is the amazing detail still visible - the sky is perfect. The light on the water leading the eye out of the dark... wonderful composition. It all works

Awesome composition, and beautiful colour, though I wish the buildings were more focused (could just be jpeg artifacting though).
