The things we do for these challenges... There is, of course Peanut Butter on my face; in my beard; in my ears... It was everywhere... I'm glad I didn't feel the need to reshoot anything, b/c I think this is the last time I'll ever be compelled to smear myself thus.

Post was: Rotate to level, curves, bw via channel mixer for eyes, then same for the rest of image, brightness on eyes, and then on whole image, then desat for a couple of places i missed...

::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
I thought it was interesting - I assumedd as shown in my voting comment that it was peanut butter, and I thought you had to be brave or stupid - with that amount of peanut butter on you!

Composition:

This is fine, not what I would call attractive with the eyes forced wide open and retouched- though your comments I am unsure why you felt the need for this.

Subject:
Pick two .. you got it ... but that people had to guess peanut butter may have been the issue with the scoring.

Technical (Colour and light):
I really feel (personally) that this is a total black and white overkill ... that is only my opinion - lighting is fine.

To grow its vote?:
As said ... add some colour so that people can see what you are doing - but I sharn't harp on :)

Summary:
Good picture - met the challenge - keep on shooting!

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

Funny! A little unsure about the shiny speckly part under the eyes. Great expression.

I'm only seeing one of the items here. I'm guessing you used peanut butter as glue for the feathers but it just isn't clear by this image, therefore, the peanut butter (or maybe jello?) isn't an integral part of the composition--It would seem to be playing a 'behind-the-scenes' technical role. Maybe if you had used color?

Without the colour hard to see the peanut butter.

very odd. lol I am assuming you used peanut butter to stick the feathers on your face, however that is just an assumptiuon as there really is no strong evidence of peanut butter. You may have used glue for all I know.
I do like the idea, and the grunge look, so only a little mark down for the lack of apparent PB

I'm assuming that the feathers were stuck to the face with peanut butter. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
