 This little critter is smaller than he looks. Would fit on your pinky fingernail, hence the very shallow DOF even at F/18. Still scarey when he fills your viewfinder though!

Steps:

Crop, brightness & contrast, whitebalance adjustment & touch of sharpening.

This is stunning. Of course it helps that I find spiders fascinating :)
Even with the shallow DOF it's obvious how well he blends with the background colours and patterning. Wonderful shot!

I thought this was the best photo in the contest. I liked that you cropped it so tightly because it makes the spider seem even larger. I gave it a 10 and I stand by my rating. Excellent!

It looks almost gentil in it's grotesqueness. Great DOF; the sharpness on the face is perfect.

Great colors. Detail is good, but not perfect... it seems that some could have been lost in post processing or maybe just because the DOF is so shallow?
