*Critique Club*
"Wonder" is a nice addition into the Square Crop challenge. This is a very nice soft piece, especially with the softness of the grays.
I really like the approach you took. I always am fond of close ups of children they allow us to capture so much, probably because children are so honest. I really like that you choose to use a full frame to capture as much as you can on her. The one thing that I think would suggest with this shot is allow the focus to be on the eyes, especially with children. Maybe the focus being on the eyes would have also brought the eyes into a nice subject. I think eyes are always great with kids also because of their amazing eyelashes.
The title is prefect for this piece, she really does look like she is wondering. Overall this really is a nice piece and I am glad you went soft with it instead of making it a strong contrast piece. Good work! |

The expression on the face is very fitting for the title. Would probably look better with the focus more on the eyes instead of the nose.
The face is so round - adorable, but maybe not the best for a square crop? It just seems like the round isn't balanced inside the square. I'd be interested to see what a square crop that was much tighter - just under the lips and near the eye on the right - would look like. Although I have a feeling that would be a bit off as well. |

| flat, please work on your exposure when doing black and white work. suggestion: instead of desaturating the image, go into your channel mixer, convert to monochromatic, and then change the Red and Blue to 0% and leave the green at 100%, notice the difference? |
