If you want the snail and tracks to be the main subject, then you should have avoided the flower, it distracts too much.

seems like the only thing in focus is the curb, everything else appears a bit soft to me

This image doesn't have a center of interest. I assume from the title and the rules of the challenge that you wanted the snail to have the attention, but the flower stem leads the eye to the flower which, although unfocused, has the only bright colors. The photo would have been more effective if you had moved the large flower out of the way and cropped more closely on the snail, perhaps including the small flower if its colors didn't distract from the subject (the snal) too much.

The flower seems out of focus, i'm not sure if it was intentional, but i dont think it works, even tho the snail is the main subject

The composition and framing of this image is very good. The flower adds color and having the snail inching its way towards it is great. The bluish color of the pavement adds interest.

You may have left the flower out of focus to make sure that the snail it was not the center of attention to meet the challenge. I probably would have shot with greater DOF to try and put it in focus anyway and maybe try a slightly different angle to emphasize the "snail after the flower" concept.

Hmmm... the flower is pretty strong as the subject. :) I really like this picture but have to mark down a little because of that. 6.

Slug slime, haven't seen any since I left Oregon. To me, the flower is a bit to far from the snail/slug.

What a lovely flower..... even though you have a lovely snail in there and the photo as a general rule is good, due to the bright colors of the flower compared to the rest of the photo, IMO the flower is the main subject therefore doesn't meet the challenge.

I assume you are talking about the snail. The flower takes away from the snail.
Do me a favor and bring up your picture and scroll down until the green flower is about 1/3 from the top. then minumize your browser and move so half of the picture is in view (snail side of course). I think this would enphasize the snail and may have got a better score from me. Currently a 4

I like that you didn't macro the little guy but made a awesome photo using his trail. I love the color tones and the lone flower towering over him. Nice compostion !

Very nicely put together...I must say I am so impressed with the textures and colors in this photo. I wish the snail was lit up a bit more. Very good job.
