Greeting from the Critique Club!

My initial reaction to you photo is "Wow...look at how the sun is shaped" I like it a lot, I think it's a pretty unique photo and fits the title well.

First off....what I like about your picture; I like the composition, it works very well together. The sun is in the rule of thirds and the clouds add a lot to the photo rather than just more dark sky. The contrast is also very good, and the tones work well with each other....hence the challenge name. The shot is simple and smooth....just how it should be. It's not overly complicated yet theres just enough to look at to make it interesting...

What I think could be improved on; There's not a lot to improve on this photo....it's about as perfectly done as this type of photo can be done. I think that the fact that it is so simple had an effect on the voters, maybe some people want more to look at than just a star and some silver linings.

But, based on the previously made comments, many people do enjoy this photo...and I am one of them.

Overall....it's a very well executed shot and fits the challenge perfectly. Nice photo...and keep up the good work.

Caleb

the star shaped apparation made it worse.. no offense.. a regular sun would've looked better.. it looks kind of... sci-fi.... star wars... wierd.. still a nice effect, though..

Interestingly, I didn't realize there was a filter that would allow sunshine to look like a Star of David... very interesting...
