Pier in Lido di Jesolo at night.
The original was so noisy so came the idea to build on this feeling. Had a lot of work with this one:
- curves
- desat
- flatten
- convert to grayscale
- convert to duotone
- levels
- add noise
- gaussian blur
- USM
- add noise

I really, really wish I could see a clear, noise-free version of this. It looks so neat - with the brown-golds against the black. :)

I'm going through my votes in reverse order and commenting on as many as I can .... this shot to me has a lot of potential and I actually think the grain......buh...'scuse me.....NOISE.....adds to the shot. That being said, it's lacking something to live up to the title.
Why am I going on? To me, artistically speaking, don't see going on here. Why would I leave the light to drop off the end into the dark?
I will say that you have me thinking....and, maybe that is the most important thing.....
I gave the photo a 3.

I like the enigma of this picture. railroad tracks into the ocean? a boardwalk upside-down? and I swear I see a ghostly pair of sneakers crossing the tracks.

This is very dark, which prevents me from appreciating what the image is. Lighten it up a bit, and work a little with curves and any highlights that were blown out by increasing brightness would be taken care of.

A little too dark and grainy. I do like the perspective and symmetry.

Dood duotones the just a little too much digital noice. Try a longer exposure at a lower ISO.

Not very pleasing to the eye, I can sort of make out something on the wood, but not enough to form an opinion about it. The image is very blurry and noisy.

looks like a photo made with a phone camera??

A little darker than it maybe needs to be, and pretty grainy. Also it doesn't look too sharp, like there was a lot of noise reduction used.

Not much definition, out of focus, doesn't grab my attention. 4

This seems to be really dark and grainy. Also, I'm not a big fan of the centered composition. Perhaps if it were taken from a slight angle to have the bridge (?) leading in from one of the corners.
