Challenge: Trends (Classic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Location: My back yard
Date: Jul 20, 2003
Aperture: f5.6
ISO: 1/20
Shutter: 400
Date Uploaded: Jul 21, 2003

I had a second string on the yoyo pegged to the ground to keep it relativly still for the set shot (hence the tight crop on the left).

Using EF 28-135 IS USM @ 33mm, tripod mounted.

neat idea. Im wondering how you managed to focus on the yoyo...and how many frames it took to get it right. Good job

Great DOF, and nice composition. I like the diagonal created from the yoyo string. It's a good concept too :)

Must have taken you a few tries to get this. Nice idea - would work better without the bright sky, I think.

I like your idea, but I feel like the picture could have been cropped at the top to give more empasis to the product placement instead of the person. Points for creativity.

More composition on the Yo-Yo and less of the user I think would have helped. Nice work

Very cool. It's funny my internet connection is running very slow at the moment and it was frozen for a while on the top two thirds of the image. I was thinking what's so special about this and then the page continued to load and the yoyo was revealed. It imediately put the whole image into perspective. (9) Good luck

Nice idea, nice execution. The only complaint I have is that I think you should have left the background (i.e. the guy) at better in focus, though not totally in focus. Product placement is pretty obnoxious, and often stands out as if to shove everything else out of focus, just not quite this blatently. Other than that, great job.

Nice composition and dof. I like how the string hangs diagonally across the frame instead of straitght down. Don't really like the blown out sky, especially because there are some darker areas on the upper right.

i like your concept here, but the blur effect is not working too well for me. especially since the yoyo is not taking enough prominent space to be the focus of attention. my eyes hurt! :o)

Nice use of blur and great concept! If the sky was more defined I'd add a couple more points.

Nice idea - and yes, a very well-observed trend, one that ticks me off too. I like the way you've taken this - nice work. 8.

Great Photo! How long did this take you to get the subject in focus? Great idea, but could have used a little more color in the background/sky.
