this was a great image! I wondered who it was and if it was Bear? Well done.

The landscapes from that part of the world are usually so attractive ;)

Heh heh,
This was fun, Robert and I decided to submit our portraits of each other and see if folks would recognize us, or realize they were taken at the same place. Our crops were quite different, however, and I don't think anyone caught on that the backgrounds were the same. Lots of folks recognized Robert, but I don't think anyone recognized me, not surprisingly.
What was interesting was the number of folks who thought this was a self-portrait, something which would have been quite out of character for Robert. In fact, we both share a "lack of enthusiasm" for doing self-portraits, LOL.

Well now, who might this be :) Graded on it's own merits, with disregard of WHO, good, informal portrait. I like it.

Very nice indeed ... this version looks much better with the less blurred background

What a great shot of Bear!
The model didn't influence my vote on this shot.
What I mean by that is I didn't vote higher because I recognize the subject, its a great shot regardless if I had never seen the face before.
Congrats on a great Portrait..
Buzz.

:) well hello there Robert. Good to see your face. An utrypical challenge entry for you. Good job (as usuall). I can really feel the cold air and the wind. Great focus and detail.

Edit: don't know why I assumed this was a self portrait. I should have known better :)

nicely done self-portrait - the whipped hair gives life to the title - focus is crisp and the background sets it all off very well

This uses the strength of the duotone very well. All ranges and just a hint of color. Well done.

Not fair. I want to give it a very high score because of its terrific tones (easily the best I've seen after 162 votes so far). I want to score it high because of its charm ... this bloke just looks like fun! Also because of its pure composition, and because of its unpretentiousness. All that. Trouble is, it's you, and you'll only think I'm being irrationally generous. So screw you ... it's a 3!
(just kidding: 9)

Hiya friend :) Nice tonal quality and DOF here. Dig the smile ;) The dark areas between the hood of the jacket seems too dark (at least on my monitor) but nothing to worry about ;)
