This is once again, my beautiful wife Henný. Lit with a single bowens monolight with a softbox and ambient lighting. Last minute submission, been a long time since I entred a speed challenge (may last year) so I thought it would be fun to do this one. Don´t really expect it to do to well since it´s not a "dpc friendly" image but I really like it so in it goes :)

The tear is real, we produced it by putting onions up to her eyes and the expression is one she made up, she was imagining something had happened to me and the kids.

Lit with a single Bowens esprit 500 and a 60x60 softbox. Post processing is pretty minimal, most of it could have been done in basic editing except for a little use of healing brush and clone stamp tool. Other than that, pretty much just curves and unsharp mask after resizing. The same goes for this image as my "7 deadly sins" image, I wanted the skin tones slightly warmer but my screen wasn´t calibrated till 2 days after I submitted this so I took the chance.

An excellent portrait with a wonderful integration of the many elements that make such a thing. Onions or not, both pose and expression are not only convincing but astounding given the Mona Lisa-esque blend.

In variance with another commentator (below), I especially appreciate the title, which attributes nothing external to the image except the idea that suffering is universal, which clearly places this photograph in the public realm.

Nice exposure on the skin. I also like the fact it's not a literal heart image. One of the best images here.

Amazing. The effect of the wind in her hair is a wonderful emotion-stirrer. Great job. I like the title too.

Nobody is!
Good portrait outside in the darkness. Looks like it is taken in Iceland. Am I right?

I've been looking at your image for a few minutes now. Overall I really like it. Great composition, clarity and lighting. The one thing I keep going back to is her expression. I see the tear, but sometimes it looks like she is about to smile - maybe it's that near Mona Lisa-like look, but that's just me. 9

Another photo with no heart in it, the voters have to read the title to make the connection.
