This was taken at Rockport Beach on the Texas coast. It was a cold, crisp night which is always a treat in Texas. The moonlight was so amazing! I did so little editing on this. The moon really did just pull that red light out of those rocks.

As soon as I saw that beacon of light reaching across the water, I thought of a Beacon of Hope.

Nice composition, good thinking using flash or some other lighting on the foreground subjects, I always like vertical compositions for centered objects more than horizontal.

I would have given a higher vote if you used the rule of 3rds to compose the horizon.

Great shot. You managed to capture the beacon and the stars. The ripples give texture. This is Print material.

nice foreground lighting, although it seems to have lost some level of detail in the rocks. the sky was captured nicely, and wow, the horizon is level! :)
i wish that the lights to the right of the lighthouse weren't there, as they seem to be competing for attention, but the stars in the sky add a nice subtle accent.

Light in the darkness truly represents the feeling of hope. It would be even better if the rocks in the front would be darker, it would not then compete with the distant light pulling me.

The foreground rocks seem overly exposed to me. My favortie part of your photo is the sky itself.

Beautiful reflective light dancing across the water. Your exposure was perfect to pick up the ripple of the water only where the light was hitting. I love the stars you were able to capture. The beacon seems to guide you through the opening of the rocks in the foreground. Beautiful!!

This is so BEAUTIFUL! I love the warm rich colors of the rocks in the forground and the light shing on the water. My eye is drawn straight to the the beacon of light. Whenever I need to be refreshed I always head to the beach. It gives me great hope. What a great capture!
