Spent a great afternoon out shooting with FleaNZ all around the multi-million dollar rural-residential area not far from our family home. This area is where I used to race my mums car on gravel roads and shoot possums safely because there were no houses ... LOL

We covered a ot of territory and took a lot of different wonderful shots, but this one with the late light, the warmth of the summer colours and the water was the stand-out. The water has bugged me no end. It is real. Ex-camera it is this almost powder blue and it just doesn't look real but it is.

People are no doubt going to accuse this of being over processed, they probably haven't been to New Zealand:)

Post processing is NO crop, a straighten, +25 contrast and a slight colout balance away from the blue haze. Otherwise, it's almost as we saw it.

Its a wonderful shot. The countryside is just awesome. I may have cut just a tad off the bottom, with the harsh light on the grass.

But it really is quite nice, great photo.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Hello,KiwiPix. We meet again. It's always fun to critique one of your images; you show me new things.

I very much like the foreground fence. Any higher and it would have blocked the viewer from the remainder of the picture, as it is, it acts as a leading line and introduction to the rest. Good shadow control. (much darker would have been disaster)and lovely soft colors.

I do see your dilemma on the water and background mountains. Actually, the biggest problem I see in this very nice image is the bald, bright sky. YOu've been through all this already, I"m sure, but my suggestion would be to crop out the mountains & sky and just leave that heavenly blue water as the final backdrop to this gentle, peaceful photograph.

again, very nice. And good luck in your future DPC Challenges.

A little too much to look at IMO... Nice view and colors though.

I like the view here. I do not like the appearance of the water and the hills in the background. Both are the same color. I would have cropped out the water and the hills on this image.

Awesome lighting!!! A bit busy though. Your colors look a little oversaturated for my taste and the water doesn't look the right shade, but damn you got some nice lighting! Where is this?
