Challenge: Your Shadow II (Advanced Editing IV)
Collection: Etc
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Location: living room
Date: Feb 2, 2006
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/50
Date Uploaded: Feb 2, 2006

I wasn't really planning on shooting for this challenge but then when I came home from work today, I noticed the shadows of the window on the wall. The sun sets perfectly. Of course, I should have used a tripod and focused better but unfortunately, there's only one sunset in a 24 hour challenge.

Nice shadow capture that I mistakenly took for a silhouette - sorry. edit:condensed/reworded now that I know you read (and found 'helpful') the 'original'

nice composition. you are part of a pattern larger than yourself. you are facing open space, but are still surrounded by a larger darkness, but around that darkness, more patterns of light. 8.

Interesting image! The presentation clearly places more emphasis on the large open doorway than the person themself... is that part of the message? Perhaps it's an unconscious clue to the self-effacing personality? Or maybe I'm reading too much into it? I do like the bright yellow (my fave colour) and the framing provided by the door. The shutters give some interesting detail - without them it would be too stark - it's verging on that anyway. The composition is jarring but that's actually not a bad thing as it adds to the impact of the image itself.

Love the colours, and the composition. The neutral space in the window just serves to highlight the shadow .. is it yours?

Great job. You are right on topic and the colors and shapes around your head are wonderful.

Nice tones and overall composition. I think it looks a tad bit off having the back of her (his?) head cut off by the window frame. If she would have been one step forward it would have been much more powerful.

I know it's only a shadow, but you have nice crisp focus on the right side and soft focus on the left (which is where your main subject is). Nice colouration tho.
