 My first foray into really trying to use dodge and burn -- not sure how well I succeeded.

Raw to JPG with RawShooter
In GIMP:
Curves
Cloned out a few spots on top.
Selected out barn and barn's reflection into new layers.
Bumped saturation on original layer.
Desat on barn and reflection layers.
Flattened.
Resized.
Dup'ed layer for burning.
Burned corners quite a bit.
Used eraser tool to soften burning.
Flattened.
USM
Blurred a little of the burning in the pond to reduce some of the artifacts.
Borders.

Nice mood in this. The rocks on the right look like they're in a painting. Actually, it looks entirely like a painting! Nice.

Awesome reflection, looks very glassy. I like the treatment given to the exposure as well, the contrast is strong but not overpowering. Composition is good as well. Excellent.

Stunning!! What can I say that isn't trite. . .the colors are so rich and amazing. The composition and subject matter is interesting and VERY appealing. The reflection in the still water adds even more to this. You have an outstanding photo here!!!

Hi, Gary! Guess what? I entered Kip's Barn, too! (I'm guessing this is yours since I don't think OdysseyF22 shot from this angle...forgive me if I'm wrong.)

Love the reflection in this! We really had the sky on our side and you captured the blue-black drama of it all! Good luck in the challenge!
