I figure I'll lose points due to the imperfection of the flower. Best flower I could find and no advanced editing allowed.
Folks also may not like the shallow DOF at the tips, but I like how it makes it look "fiery".

I love the colors on this image and the DOF used. Maybe a portrait orientation showing the green stem would make it even more impactful ;)

With a shift in focus, this could have pontentially made a very strong abstract image. As it stands, i am finding the focus to be a little off par, making the line of the red petal strange in contrast to the yello petal behind.
