 It was the strong diagonal lean of this plant and it's absolutley huge blossom that originally drew me to photograph this flower. As I tried different angles of composition and lighting I ended up the evening with this, the most dramatic of the views. I had another that was even more strongly 'off center' but it was a wider view and you lost the impact of the SIZE of this flower's bloom.

Post processing wasn't too extensive:

Contrast and Saturation both got a little boost to compensate for the loss in JPG compression. Then a slight dodge around the right edge of the flower where a lot of light had pooled.

Resize and save for web, and viola!

This is only a test of the DPC 'wet flower' notification system. :)

What makes this for me is the vivid red, my favorite color, with the hint of pink and gold. Great shallow DOF.
