Its a really pretty place, it looks like lighting was not on your side today though.

The sky is a tad bit overblown for my tastes.

Poor exposure, I don't see how this fits the challenge.

I feel history, not romance. A terrific shot, for a half dozen other challenges. Perhaps a man and woman in a row boat at left.......

This is very like Bruges in Belgium.
I like the composition and the high contrast treatment.
Might not be a strong enough link to "Romance" for some people without seeing a couple hand in hand or something similar...but it works OK for me.

If this image had a human element (a pair of silhouettes in a gondola, for example) I don't doubt that it'd be on the front page after the voting period ends. As it stands now, it's a lovely, romantic landscape, but I doubt that the anthropomorphism will be enough for most voters.

I don't see the connection with romance...?
02/02/2006 12:03:22 PM
great picture, not a lot of romance... (but I see your point)

Nice capture, sharpness, DOF, composition. House and tree feel over-sharpened/over-processed. Sky is blown out, so cropped may be better.

are you in the right challenge...this is the romance floor

nice composition. would have really liked to see this with a little less exposure

Imho the over exposure is not participating to the mood of this picture and becomes the subject...

Nice composition and processing. I would fix lens distortions, though.
