I have been busy all week and this is the first challenge I've entered for a time... While it is an unusual subject to pick, but it's not exactly a 'creative' picture. I'll wait and see how it does - just want to get back in the game.

Hmmmm... I didn't think of this at the time but this is more of a UK only thing. These are conkers and come from the horse chestnut tree, when they are ready they open up and the large brown seed (conker) inside is collected by school kids to use in a school yard game. It was only after I got a couple of the comments that I realised that few people would actually know what they were!

Never mind, bring on the next challenge.

Not sure I get the title, but good subject matter, lighting and focus are OK, and composition is good.

Light is too harsh, you can see this from the highlights and the sharply defined shadows. Try this shot at the end of the day! Composition seems a litle off. I don't like the one that is cut in half at the top left. Not a very inspiring background. 4

Like your photo. I may have tried a different backgound color, but then again, I'm far from being an expert so take that comment in stride.
