I am the Senior Pastor of The Melbourne Worship Centre, and in 2001, my friends Jeff and Ruth Njuguna commenced a school in Kenya (after the tragic loss of their daughter Lavenda at Birth). Our church is a major stakeholder and from its humble beginnings with 5 students in January 2001, we now have 2 schools and over 300 students and 60 staff in a remote area of Kenya known as Gatarakwa.

These people would not get an education without the help of many generous people. You can find out more by visiting our website: www.lavendasprings.com

Yes, the school was named after the daughter Ruth and Jeff lost. Her name is known over most of the region.

This shot is taken at our second school in Maralel which is in Samburu country. I think it is typical of the region with the thorny flat topped acacia trees and the red soil.

Enzo this is a very nice photo and I'm sure it brings back powerful feelings for you. Along with sharpening as you mentioned I would like to add consider cropping in from the right some to get her out of the middle of the frame. Very good work

Yeah, might revert to a non softened version as I think it is stronger

I am not too mad about the softened effect you have used on the shot, would really like to see it without it. Africa has so many photo opportunities, it is a beautiful continent.

Yip, Africa in all it's natural glory. Great work. Africa itself is a point-and-shoot place. Great pic my friend and strength with your effort in Africa. Wish someday I could do that..

Excellent color shot. This image tells a story. The warm tones are so pretty to look at. I like that she is in the distance and surrounded by the landscape. I can see this on a travel or magazine cover featuring Africa!!
