A gift of wildlife from our cat.
Bad kitty!
I expect voters to say that the animal is domesticated...I hope they take the unfortunate wild chickadee into consideration.
Pulled it, then reconsidered & resubmitted.

I am assuming that this is a domestic cat ... it looks so well groomed. If so, it does not meet the challenge criteria: '"wildlife" should be considered non-domesticated mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians living in a natural environment.'
The focus is good because it is on the eyes. The colours are a bit dull, and I am sure that saturation and levels could have made a difference.
Nice shot, but it seems to be lacking something I can't quite put my finger on.
I think if this had been set on a lawn or had something a little more colourful in the background it would have lifted the image. I think the lack of colour is what I dislike.
Would make a good B&W image though, the composition is nice and its pin sharp too. Good effort
Would have given you a better score if you had used shallow DOF to make the bird the focal point and the cat out of focus in the background. As it is, your attention is drawn to the cat (technically not wildlife).
Accurate capture of a killer. This is why cats should NOT be allowed out. They are ruthless killers, and have played a major role in the demise of many song birds, and other native wildlife. This is a pity. I love cats...I have two, but this is senseless.
I may as well add more since I'm already upon my milk crate. It's a dangerous world out there for domestic cats. Fights with other cats, dogs, and wildlife, hit by cars, illnesses, and not to mention that they spread disease to wildlife. They've also been known to cause auto accidents due to people's attempts to avoid hitting them.
Well, I hope I haven't offended you or others. It's certainly not my goal, but I do aim to educate.
This is a domesticated animal that caught a wild bird. The bird, had it stayed alive, would have been the better choice for your entry. This is a DNMC and my score reflects that.
Poor birdie! My mom has a cat that even in her dodderage (she is 13) manages to bring down a squirrel or two and has even at one time killed a crow. This certainly counts as wildlife to me (albeit dead wildlife). I wonder how you're doing in the voting? Some people might nitpick that the bird isn't in a natural environment. I'm guessing there are some bird-loving, cat-haters who will vote this down based on an emotional response. I like it though (I'm a bird-loving, cat-lover). It is well done and rather powerful in an odd way.
