I love the close crop, and with so much black in the photo the border works pretty well. It's a shame the shot is a bit soft.

no way, i'm not voting on this one.

A little soft on the focus. Think I might have liked a crop that either included the teeth or wxcluded them completly. But still nice shot with what must be a pretty healthy zoom.

The extreme close-up doesn't really work for me, with this one; there's too much movement for it to be appreciated.

intense shot... those eyes.. wow. Just wish it were a tad more clear.. seems to have a slight blur.. intensional? .. amazing colour

I like the crop. Wish there had been better light on the eyes but understand that's not something you could control.

overall the focus appears soft - IMO - especially the eyes should be sharper

looks a bit like a cheetah to me...lacks focus and would have liked to have seen the teeth

Close ups that fill the frame like this can be very successful. Most of their beauty comes from seeing tiny details that we normally don't get to see in crisp, sharp focus.
Unfortunately this photo is too soft/OOF to really enjoy those details.

The cropping is a little uncomfortable for me. I would have liked to seen more teeth.

Too close...his lower jaw and teeth are cut off. Really cool if not for that.

Nicely composed close-up shot could be just a little sharper.

Good picture, but cropped a little too close. I would have liked to see at least the whole head. Easy fix for next challenge though.

Eyes need to be crisp.

Wish this were in better focus - try to ensure you're focusing on the closest eye. I would have liked to see more of the leopard's head too.

Very dramatic crop. There could be a touch more of glint in its eye.

A little sharper would have improved the impact

Lovely closeup, but his face isn't sharp for me.

Like the idea of the close crop but it feels very soft. More light in the animal's eye's would provide a stronger focus point. What kind of leopard is this, btw?

Is this one mounted on a wall?
