Thank you to the critique club for your time and dedication. The lighting was done in a homemade light box. The frame is made of PVC pipe and a white sheet is over the frame. Desk lights are shining from the sides through the sheet and one light through the front being careful not to throw a shadow.

*Greetings from the Critique Club*

This is a great little photo. The idea is so different.

The main thing that hits me here is that the subject is so dead on and from the front. I keep thinking of it from a slightly different angle and keep trying to picture the impact of it.

I like the lighting you have achieved here and it works very well with the colours. I'd be curious to know what you used for lighting. You've done well with the saturation as to not over do it. It sits very nicely and isn't overpowering. I think this, along with the old style sewing machine, adds a nice 'yesteryear' type charm to the photo.

The depth of field and crispness help finish this off and there's some nice detail in the wings. Everything sits well from front to back.

Well done with the votes this one received and it's placement. Both your entries to date have performed well and best of luck with future challenges.

Neil

Under-rated! Maybe because it takes more than 2 seconds to "get it". Really nice work.

As a quilter, I love this shot! Very creative and the pattern on the sewing machine gives it an "old-time" kind of feel.

The subject in the picture is interesting but i ia taken at a dead on angle and makes the image boring.

A nice, crisp, well-lit image. Without the title, though,I wouldn't have thought "Fantasy". The title made me stop and think about it, and invest a little imagination in the image. I can certainly see the concept, the image doesn't fully carry off the "fantasy" part for me.

This is a neat tableau--creating a fantasy creature for a youngling. Appealing lighting and layout except for the thing in the bottom right corner looks like a mouse!

Nice still-life. Would have been an interesting addition to enter in a picture of a person in the place of the doll from the waist up... just a thought. 6

It looks more like you're stitching a fairy to death. But that's a fantasy, too!
