Challenge: Wildlife II (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D
Lens: Sigma 70-210mm UC f/4.0-5.6 for Minolta
Location: Canal just south of at Napton, Warwickshire, UK
Date: Jan 22, 2006
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/100
Galleries: Animals, Water
Date Uploaded: Jan 22, 2006

The drake followed everywhere she went. Focus on the ducks was not quite there, but the dog kept pulling at his lead. I had not heard of DPChallenge at the time of taking the photo; just coincidence that I'd taken wildlife.

Post capture editing was done in Serif Photoplus: crop to about half the frame are; scale to required dimension; save with sufficient compression to meet size limit.

I was considering a blur on the foliage but thought I'd put in an 'as taken' frame for my first attempt.

Focus needs to be sharper on the ducks.

A little too soft on the focus?

Too flat and doesn't appear in focus. Also unflatering posterior view -- wait for better position.

Nice Composition, slightly OOF.

The focus is soft/off, the background is uninteresting, and there seems a bit of a haze over it all (curves in PS would fix that part) :-(
But you DID manage to capture some wildlife !! Keep trying.

seems blurred

It seems the camera focused on the plant life in the background, which made the ducks a little blurry in the foreground. If that was changed this would be a very high rated pic.

Seems to be out of focus, rather dull colors, some work in levels could improve the picture substantially

OOF or soft. Either way it detracts from the image. Also, too much stuff distracting at the top of the shot.

Photo is pretty blurry and washed out, try using a higher ISO or steadying your camera with a tripod.

Duck and cover.
It lacks tad of sharpness and lightning isnt in its optimal. Also I woul've waited for ducks to line up differently and take even better shot. Now best choice might have been to crop male duck and concentrate efforts on him. (male was the colorful one, right?)
