This is a lovely brackish water scene, and you photographed it to perfection.

At first glance you don't see the turtle because of the bird (which is wonderfully backlit I might add). Once I noticed it I had a good chuckle. ;^) Very good timing to see and capture this. Title is cute, and helpful. One of my top 3 picks for the challenge. Good luck!

Beautifully capture, well framed and you caught some rich light here. The backround looks a bit muddy and uniform, like an abuse of the highlights and shadows tool, which knocks it down a bit, but it is still a top five.

Wonderful, with the turtle sharing the log. Would have been great in the backlighting challenge also. 10.

Terrific lighting on the egret and what a great expression on that turtle!

amazing.... the fact that you got the backlight and still maintained all the details in the shadows - the turtle rocks

This is a beautifully back lit bird, a tighter crop, lose the turtle, and brighten the feathers just alittle and you have an awesome photograph! Way to go!

LOL, nice capture only thing with this, as most including mine, is that so much of the feather definition on the egret is lost due to mostly reflection, I think, nice dof and color

I think he will catch him, lol. nice shot getting two different animals. 9 from me. Would have been 10 but the turtle is a little blurry.

Love the back-lighting on the bird. Funny capture with the turtle looking like it's shooing it away.

This is confusing because it's hard to tell who's the main subject. The bird is in focus but facing the edge, where the turtle is slightly OOF but coming in. I think this would have worked better either with a different angle to put both of them a little more centered and have the bird not looking directly out of the picture from the edge (this leads my eye out...I didn't even notice the turtle until I read the title and wondered what it meant)...he could still be looking out if the turtle was more of the focus (increase depth of focus so their interaction is the focus).

Nice backlighting - works well with side view. Composition not so strong for me, I think it would work better if the bird was looking into the negative space area of the image rather than out of it.

very funny shot...great title...there's a little bit of flare in the bottom left hand corner, but you caught the moment and that cannot be helped...I think your title made this shot greater than it is...well done

It took me a while to see the turtle, shame he isn't more obvious, I love the way his leg seems to be pushing the bird out of the way.
